| Prepare your self, my student, for an in-depth study of things you've probably never thought about once. Sakura-chan's zodiac signs and blood types. But if you read it, you might find that it's actually pretty accurate. I admit it's accurate and I don't go in to this stuff!
But first, my rules. You may not copy this page. The stuff by other people may be taken, with proper credit, but my thoughts on them may not be copied. Why would you want to? They're my thoughts, not yours.
Sakura-chan's Birthday:
I did some digging and found that Cardcaptor Sakura aired on April 7, 1998 in Japan. In the first season of CCS, Sakura was ten years old. This being said I assumed that the animators/storywriters meant her to be ten years old as of April 1, 1998, as Sakura's birthday is on the first of April, and not the seventh.
So then, obviously, assuming the above is true, Sakura's birthday is April 1, 1988. (This would make her 15 as of 4/1/2003)
I decided to have some fun on a site that had Chinese Zodiac information. The results were striking! For example, Sakura's Chinese Zodiac sign is the Dragon.
Year of the Dragon - 1988:
The Dragon is one of the most powerful and lucky Signs of the Chinese Zodiac. Its warm heart makes the Dragon's brash, fiery energy far more palatable. This is a giving, intelligent and tenacious Sign that knows exactly what it wants and is determined to get it. Dragons possess a certain natural, charming charisma that ensures they can always influence their peers and often find themselves the center of attention in social situations. This Sign is truly blessed, too; Dragons are considered to be very lucky in love! The Dragon's friends are always keen to hear what this firebrand has to say and when it comes to dispensing advice, the Dragon has the floor.
Its ego can get in the Dragon's way, but even so, this larger-than-life creature has a knack for initiating projects and keeping the troops motivated. According to Dragons, it's their natural born right to lead the way -- because who else could do it so surely and so well? As lucky as they are, Dragons have a good chance of achieving considerable material wealth during their lifetimes, although it isn't mere money that's this Sign's main motivation. Power is what the Dragon wants and truly believes it deserves. Dragons are quite the opportunists, forever searching for ways in which to consolidate their considerable power. Contrary to all this strength and fire, a weakened Dragon is a sad sack, a creature that refuses to take defeat with even a modicum of grace.
The role of leader is the only one the Dragon wants, the better from which to give orders and be king of the hill. They make solid leaders, too, knowing instinctively what needs to be done to stay on top. Crossing the Dragon is never a good idea -- this beast can singe! A valuable life lesson for this clever creature would be to absorb the principles of flexibility, compassion and tolerance. Being high and mighty can serve to inspire others, but it also keeps Dragons from living their lives to the fullest. If Dragons can learn to balance their quest for success with an appreciation for the little things, their life will be more than worthwhile.
But is that Sakura?
Now, some of that isn't entirely accurate, I know, for example...Sakura doesn't have a big ego. A bit of an ego, yes, but who doesn't? But, she's clever, a leader, and you have to admit she's after power, not in a bad way, but she is. Sakura wants the Clow Cards, she risks a lot for them. They give her strength increased with each capture.
Then again, Sakura already has absorbed 'the principles of flexiblity, compassion, and tolorance.' She's very flexible! (Check out her gymnastics! ...Just kidding) The compassion thing, Sakura is so compassionate, she cares for the cards, she cares for Tomoyo, she cares for Meiling, who, by the way, cares for Sakura too, she cares for Shaoran, she cares for her big brother even if she does want to grow up to roughly the size of a telephone pole so she can squash him. She definately cares for her father. I could go on and on.
Still...on to other things...her 'normal' Zodiac Sign; Aries
Astrolotical Sign: Aries
Aries is the first Sign of the Zodiac, and that's pretty much how those born under this Sign see themselves: first. Arians are the leaders of the pack, first in line to get things going. Whether or not everything gets done is another question altogether, for Arians far prefer to initiate than to complete. Do you have a project needing a kick-start? Call an Aries, by all means. The leadership displayed by Arians is most impressive, so don't be surprised if they can rally the troops against seemingly insurmountable odds -- they have that kind of personal magnetism. Arians don't shy away from new ground, either. Those born under this Sign are often called the pioneers of the Zodiac, and it's their fearless trek into the unknown which often wins the day. Arians are a bundle of energy and dynamism and the Pied Piper of their people. The dawning of a new day, and all its possibilities, is pure bliss to an Arian. It's the Ram which symbolizes Aries, and that's both good and bad news. Impulsive Arians (and there are more than a few) might be tempted to ram their ideas down someone else's throat. If things get done for the greater good, that might even be okay. It's those times when an idea is force-fed by an Arian for no apparent reason that we wish this Sign's symbol were a more subdued creature. No go, since these folks are blunt and to the point. Along with those qualities comes the Arian's sheer force of being which can accomplish a great deal. Much of this drive to the finish line has to do with the Cardinal Quality assigned to Arians. Cardinal Signs love to get things going, and Arians exemplify this better than the rest.
On to something else then.
Then, I'm sure you've heard this many a times, but there's the entire blood type thing. Sakura is Blood Type A, fairly common, even in Japan where AB supposedly reigns supreme. I could be wrong, of course, being human and all.
Blood Type A
People of this blood type are perfectionist, orderly, detail-oriented, industrious, idealistic, soft-spoken and careful.
Good side of A types: Has ability to understand complex emotional situations getting to the heart of the matter, patient, lets others do what they wish first, puts extra emphasis on their friends and acquaintances over other things in life, visionaries- deep thinkers, careful when acting. Many theorists and philosophers are A types.
Bad side of A types: Can be extremely obsessed with one thing, talkers instead of doers (hence the perfect trait of being a philosopher), not very punctual (Ever hear of the word "Korea-Time"?), dreams too big and unrealistically, does not enjoy being with strangers or with someone new, has trouble explaining in words compared to writing it down on paper, indecisive, tends to avoid difficult situations than actually facing it
True or False?
So, well, I don't know...the Good Side seems to be her, but, Sakura strikes me as too outgoing for being a theorist or philosopher, still...she's very young.
The Bad Side though....uh...well, she can be obsessed with one thing, but she's very much a doer. Of course, as Touya and Kero-chan will tell you, Sakura isn't very punctual. However, Sakura doesn't seem to mind strangers, for example, she seemed very taken with Mrs. Li, Shaoran's mother, when she first met her. Quite in awe, but not unhappy by any means.
As for avoiding difficult occasions....she does do this...sometimes. For example, when her friend Rei befriended the Fast card, I think it was, Sakura tried to do everything but capture the card before the big race. So, yes, Sakura is pretty typical of a type A person. With some differences.
